Primer on CAD and PDM -- A Survival Guide for Managers and Users

Intro Associativity Part History PDM Imported Data Family Tables

This is a work-in-process, with the intent to provide a no-nonsense pseudo-technical view of CAD and PDM.  Most of the topics presented are interrelated and build upon one another.

In preparing this Primer, I've drawn upon my 30 years of CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM experience but perhaps more importantly, I've attempted to present and discuss the sometimes technically deep topics in a way that is understandable (and hopefully retains the attention) even of the non-engineer.
