Barb Kallestad is the extremely talented artist responsible
for our beautiful Lake Tahoe Chautauqua
limited edition watercolor painting. Barb has been an artist for as long
as she can remember. Born and raised in Minnesota, she had a desire to
study art from the fourth grade on. Her early artistic talent was enhanced
through years of basic study in commercial art classes in the States to fine art
courses in the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy. This is perhaps
why she is an artist of great diversity and uniqueness.Barb has worked as a graphic artist at various companies and
advertising agencies for over twenty years. For six years she volunteered
as an art instructor for elementary level students and taught painting in adult
education classes.
During the last fifteen years, she has taken a slight career
change into the fine arts, steadily painting and exhibiting. The majority
of her work is produced in watercolors, although she accepts commissions in a
variety of media. Barb is a member of the FWS, which she earned while
living some years in Florida. Barb now resides with her family in the Lake
Tahoe area.
