 | 3D Text Generator
-- This is a utility for generating I-DEAS 3D solid models of text for use in decals on
finished products, markings for manufacturing, and 3D annotation. You can run the
generator free and immediately from our web site or download for local use.

 | BORN
and Related Utilities -- with the courtesy of Mel Boss and Alan
McDougal, we
are pleased to post here some useful program file utilities for creating BORN (base orphan
reference node) starter parts... plus setup files for defining global symbols and standard
views.

 | Camera
Viewing Program File -- Courtesy of Jim Ross and Mike
Morse -- The purpose here is to document a program file written by Jim and
modified by Mike to automate the process of trying to simulate a
camera. It is a rather difficult thing to do interactively because of
the way that I-DEAS handles viewing parameters with respect to its commands
to change views. A fair amount of mathematics is involved in doing
something as simple as "panning the camera" or "changing the
lens on the camera". This program file automates all that. You
can preview the description, check the readme.txt
file, or directly download the original Jim
Ross or updated Mike Morse program files (on some browsers, using
MB3=Save-target/link-as).

Involute Gear Program File
-- Courtesy of Kris Kolady, Scott Zimmerlee, and Mel Boss, you can download here an I-DEAS MS6
(or newer versions) Program File (or prior
to MS6 program file) that completely automates the generation of I-DEAS solid models
of involute gears. After downloading the file (on some browsers, using
MB3=Save-target/link-as), then in I-DEAS simply File, Program File, Run the involute gear
program file. [if you have problems running these prg files

 | Extended I-DEAS Color
Palette -- Courtesy of Ric Hotchkiss,
you can download here a Universal File (53kb) of
standard xwindows-named colors for I-DEAS. After downloading the file (on some
browsers, using MB3=Save-target/link-as), then in I-DEAS simply File, Import the universal
file... and then apply the extended palette of 513 colors to the appearance of curves,
surfaces, and solid parts. [if you have problems reading this
unv file -- with the error message "System read error on line 1 of command input
file" -- read this article on Program File Conversion Unix/NT]

 | Miscellaneous Program Files
-- we'll collect here a number of Program Files of general utility
that are either self-evident in operation or internally documented. To
download, use MB3="Save-target/link-as" in your browser.
Make sure you read the file itself for operating instructions.
